Seeds
Someone is dying outside by the well
the slowly turning grapevines reach me now
someone is crying, through vision, not through voice
his loving went unwanted until now
and her voice echos freely through the softly lighted church
but the bells which ring yearly spell his name
ocean storm is coming, sea salt in the air
and someone’s in the garden planting seeds
Three in the morning was too late to hold my speech
I took the stones by three’s to see her face
I told my love I’m sorry, and I said I watched him fall,
and I wished to god that I could take his place
and her voice echos freely through the softly lighted church
but the bells which ring yearly spell his name
and she mourns the misty morning as we watch the storm decay,
and I hold her til the stars devour day
